Uni-Tankers and Sofar Ocean today announce a new partnership that will bring Sofar Ocean’s Wayfinder platform to Uni-Tankers’ entire fleet.
Wayfinder will support more informed route and speed decisions, stronger operational visibility, and better coordination between Uni-Tankers’ ship and shore-based teams. The decision comes as Uni-Tankers continues to grow its fleet and its 2025/26 strategy focuses on operational efficiency and digital development.
For Uni-Tankers, the partnership reflects a practical operational need. The company recently reported a record fleet of 44 vessels, with activity balanced between the spot market and long-term contracts.

Uni-Tankers will use Wayfinder to support its day-to-day voyage execution with the shipping industry’s leading real-time marine weather intelligence, vessel-specific digital twins for performance modeling, and dynamic voyage optimization. In 2025, shipowners using Wayfinder – including MOL, Dorian LPG, Berge Bulk, and Star Bulk – saved an average of 6.9% fuel per voyage.

The partnership builds on Uni-Tankers’ broader investment in fleet efficiency and operational innovation. Since 2025 Uni-Tankers has expanded its fleet with modern eco tankers, invested in wind-assisted propulsion systems, and is participating in the Danish Environmental Protection Agency’s CLEANSHIP project to measure the real-world impact of emissions-reducing initiatives during voyages.
